The short version

  • You can use BibleReset without an account. Your program and entries then stay on your phone.
  • Analytics never include what you write: no journal, prayer, note or reflection text.
  • We don’t sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps.
  • Apple handles payments. We never see your card.
  • You can delete your entries, your cloud data or your whole account at any time.

Who we are

BibleReset is made by Stephen Lajuwomi, an independent developer in Texas, USA. “We” and “us” on this page mean BibleReset.

What we store

Without an account, your program, progress, answers and entries are stored only on your device.

With an account (Apple, Google or email), we store your name and email from that sign-in, and back up your app data so it syncs between your devices. This includes your program and progress, streaks, your answers from the opening questions (such as which areas you want to grow in), your profile, reminder settings, Bible highlights, notes and bookmarks, daily recaps and meditation history.

Your journal and prayer entries are backed up too, unless you turn on “keep on this phone only” in Settings. Your Prayer Lock app choices never leave your phone.

Analytics and crash reports

To make the app better, we collect a small set of usage events: which onboarding screen you reached, whether you saw the paywall or started a trial, when a purchase fails, when you finish a task (its type, not its name), and when you open the app. These come with basic device details such as phone model, iOS version, app version and language, and a random ID that isn’t linked to your name or email.

When the app crashes or hits an error, we receive a crash report with the technical details needed to fix it.

Analytics and crash reports never include the text of your journal, prayers, notes, reflections or answers. We don’t use them for advertising, and we don’t store your IP address with them.

Messages you send us

If you contact support or send feedback, we receive your message, your email (so we can reply), your app version, iOS version and time zone. If you suggest a feature, its title and description are shown to other BibleReset users so they can vote on it.

Payments

Subscriptions are bought and managed through Apple. We receive whether your subscription or trial is active, never your card or billing details.

Companies that help us

We use a few trusted services to run BibleReset. They only process data to provide their service to us.

  • Cloudflare hosts our server, database and backups.
  • RevenueCat checks your subscription status with Apple, using a random ID (or your account ID if you’re signed in).
  • Resend sends sign-in codes and delivers your support messages to us.
  • Apple and Google handle sign-in if you choose them.
  • PostHog stores our app analytics.
  • Sentry stores crash reports.

These services may process data in the United States.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and backups until you delete them. When you delete your account, your account, backups and sessions are erased from our servers right away. Copies in our encrypted system backups disappear within 30 days.

Analytics are kept for up to one year and crash reports for up to 90 days. Support emails are kept as long as we need them to help you.

How we protect it

Data is encrypted while it travels and on our servers and backups. Only your account can reach your data.

Synced entries are not end-to-end encrypted, so if you want a journal no server ever holds, keep it on your phone only.

Your choices and rights

In the app, go to Settings to delete single entries, delete all of your cloud data, or delete your account and everything linked to it.

Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Email us and we’ll answer within 30 days. If you live in the EU, the UK or California, you have these rights by law, and you can also complain to your local data protection authority. We don’t sell or share your personal data for advertising.

Age

BibleReset is for people aged 13 and over. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data in a big way, we’ll tell you in the app first.
